Chemyunion’s Upcycled Eccofia Citrus Rejuvenates Neck, Décolleté Skin

Driven by the skinification of body
care trend, Chemyunion has developed Ecoffea Citrus, a plant extract that boosts the production of structural proteins, revitalizing and restoring skin’s longevity. Derived from upcycled waste from green coffee (Coffea arabica) and Sicilian lemon (Citrus limon), the vegan ingredient comprises 100% NOC (Natural Origin Content). With this launch, Chemyunion says it reaffirms its commitment to innovation and sustainability by offering the market an effective solution for high-performance body care.

According to the company, Ecoffea Citrus (INCI: Not Provided) has been shown ex vivo and in vivo in the neck and décolleté area to improve skin health and promote the reduction of fine lines and wrinkles through various mechanisms:
- Improving skin texture, elasticity and firmness.
- Stimulating cellular longevity.
- Boosting structural proteins essential for skin firmness.
- Improving skin elasticity, texture and roughness after 28 days.
- Reducing fine lines and wrinkles after 28 days.
Improving Structure and Longevity
The degradation of collagen and elastin fibers affects skin’s firmness and texture. As the company explains, by acting on different types of collagen, the ingredient boosts firmness (type I collagen (COL-1)), supports skin structure (type III collagen (COL-3)), increases the production of COL-1, which decelerates with chronological aging, and improves regeneration to support the mechanical stability of skin (type IV collagen (COL-4)).
In addition, by boosting fibronectin 1 (FB1), a glycoprotein
that interacts with dermal fibroblasts and contributes to the structure of the dermal-epidermal junction, the extracellular matrix
(ECM) is improved, in turn improving wrinkles. Finally, to maintain skin integrity and appearance, the ingredient increases the expression of sitruin-3 (SIRT-3), which promotes cellular
longevity by protecting skin structures from oxidative damage.
